Gentlemen, start your pitch pipes! The Heart of America Chorus is scheduled to perform "God Bless America" to several thousand fans at Kansas Speedway right before the NASCAR Xfinity Playoff, Saturday, Oct. 23.

Kansas Speedway features two races that day, the Kansas Lottery 300 and Reese's 150. The speedway seats 48,000 people. It had been expected that 25,000 would attend, though that number might be higher as pandemic restrictions have been lifted.

The speedway is located in Kansas City, Kan., off I-70 at 110th Street or off I-435 at State Avenue. A number of preferred parking passes are to be provided to the chorus singers. A shuttle is to carry chorus members from the speedway entrance to the infield. Our members may stay for the races without having to buy tickets.

Buy half-price race tickets at hoachorus.com

The HOA website, www.hoachorus.com, is to carry an announcement of the performance and the races, including a link allowing HOA members, friends and patrons to purchase race tickets at half price of $25. Until that link is set up, HOA and friends may purchase tickets from the Speedway's Clayton Lovekamp at clovekamp@kansasspeedway.com or (913) 328-3348.

The deadline to purchase half-price tickets via the HOA website is Oct. 8.

Additionally, as a promotion, Kansas Speedway is supporting HOA's Golf Scramble on Sept. 23 by bringing a pace car to the scramble at Winterstone Golf Course in Independence. The speedway also will be contributing prizes to the Golf Scramble raffle.
